We are a group of professional opera singers based in New York City, seeking to make opera accessible to all by presenting engaging events of vocal music, including opera, art song, operetta and musical theater, in unorthodox spaces in and around New York City.
We began in 2005 by partnering with the MTA and Music Under New York (MUNY) to bring exciting performances to some of NYC’s busiest stations and transportation hubs. Today, we have expanded beyond the subway, performing with different partners not only throughout the city but also online, catering to a growing global audience of fans.
WHAT IS MTA MUSIC?
Since 1985, Arts & Design has managed the Music Under New York (MTA MUSIC) program, to bring joyous and engaging music to the commuting public. Currently, more than 350 soloists and groups participate in MTA MUSIC providing over 7,500 annual performances at 30 locations throughout the transit system. Click Here to find out more.
